First Ever SC2 'Ling!

It's not a very good picture.... SC2 lings are hard to draw... It's a cross between the in-game one and samwise's concept art. Please tell me how to make it better/more accurate. :)

erm, well the zergling looks pretty roughly done. I dont suppose you actually meant to do a masterpiece so I dont care to give a vote at all... all im going to do is give you advice.
ORLY? I thought they ony had 1 pair of wings. i didnt know they retained drooping tusks at the sides of their heads. I didnt know their head became so lack luster. But its official. I just dont like the new SC2 zerg concept.. yet. maybe they'll come up with something cooler later. |

Yeh CTM, I'd've guessed it'd get goods and averages.  I posted it more as a study because the only images of the SC2 zergling I've ever seen are samwise's concept in the artwork/gameplay trailer and then the one in the game. They do have 2 pairs of wings for sure though, and you can see the head and the tusks in the portrait on sc2.com. |

Well I don't like sc2 concepts at all. I think that Samwise has been doing warcraft art for too long. Just look at the stalker concept :/ and marines with shields are just pathetic, not to mentioning siege tank design. But sketch is cute. |

Pretty good, I like the pose and the coloring is nice. Although you would want to make the pic a bit more clearer. Try sharping out he edges after you add the shadows and color, because they usually fade away with all that cropping and smudging. Add more details like, the transparency of the wings and the sharpesness of the teeth and claws.
Other than that your on the good way.

Oh and also you made some proportional and positioning mistakes. The left big wing is offset to the left and his right front claw should be rotated a bit more towards the inside. |

I spy with my little eye... a melee air unit??? If zerglings can fly in SC2, ling rushers will become all the harder to beat. Seriously though, not bad. |

I think its rough because maybe it just unburrowed and it has dirt and grime on it.
