Starcraft Races
by masterofhobbiton (Watch for feedback, Add to favorites)

This picture includes my best Starcraft models (so far), but was made mainly to show off the marine I made a couple of days ago. I'm quite happy with the picture, everything is original work in Animation: Master except for a couple of things like the psi blade and the scout engine-glows, which were added in later. The units are (from top left, clockwise) Guardian, Battlecruiser, Scouts, Zealot, Marine, Zergling and Hydralisk.

HEYYYYYY
this is pretty goood.
ure models are pretty well achieved. (3d mesh or polymesh)

the only "problem" are the light shades and textures.
theyre too poor (even more compared to the model detail level). Working on it you could get some impressive kickass renders!! really.
keep on workin. i wanna se more of ur sweet work.

greetings.

I think the texturing isn't so good but that isn't that of a big deal compare to modeling it.
I think the scout is a bit flat.

Thanks for the comments. In response to FEAR101, if you can get it with some kind of student discount (as I did), it goes for $200. It's slightly different from programs like blender, as it uses spline-patch modelling rather than polygons. I agree with the texturing comments; I don't really have any experiance with making decals or doing lighting.

This is very good, and I agree completely with UZ. Your models are VERY GOOD: but your texture is not enough

Not that it demerits the piece as a whole, I'll still give you EXP

BTW, you might be interested in our current project, Starcraft: Sons of War. It's a second expansion for our beloved game, with a full new set of units, tilesets, voices, a brand new storyline and more things. We're currently looking for talented modelers such as yourself to help us make the sprites and possibly cinematics. Don't worry, you won't be pushed beyond your potential. If you're interested, send me a PM (or email to sc.sonsofwar@gmail.com with your questions) and I'll give you the details. If you need more specific information (like what program we currently use for modeling, formats, etc.) ask UltraZealot, he can give you a better overview

BEWARE MARINES, TUSKS AHEAD

P.S: If you're already interested, but want a clearer horizon, go here:

Yep, that's where I am. Check the website people.

As UZ and Torr stated above, models are decent but your work with minutiae; units' coating, is not that good. However, with Zealot you did excellent job, especially legs look very good.

Keep 'em coming, and pay extra attention to texture next time.

I give it Good.

(voted: good)

I guess you made all this. Effort is really for admiration to say the least.
...But there is something about all of them - they are kind of bulky, and stone shaped. Cool stuff, but I see a lot of strange errors.
Stick to Zerg, and try to change appearance of textures.

Nice stuff you've got there.
Did you make some animations too?

Thanks for the comments. Goran1; yes I have a few animations. Every 3 months or so I try to immitate a cinematic and quit after a shot. Lyye; in the cinematics and the instruction manual that's what guardians look like.

You should really teach me about Organic Modelling. I've made alot of StarCraft machines (Siege Tanks, Battlecruisers, Carriers) But I haven't made anything that is Zerg, or even Zerg-like.
