Cinematic Zergling
by masterofhobbiton (Watch for feedback, Add to favorites)

I'm thanking Goran1 and ITSTORRASQUE4U for their comments on my previous zerglings; here is my new one, which is almost completely redone. Every detail I could find in the cinematics was added, so it is extremely accurate (I think). It has completely new textures, which are more detailed and vibrant, and is much more insectlike. If you don't think this is a zergling, know that I was trying to replicate the one seen in the brood war intro, NOT to make a copy of the in game one. I've decided to stop telling people to watch the cinematics and to simply go to http://www.geocities.com/masterofhobbiton/cine4zerg0.jpg, where I stuck my zergling over a screen straight from the cinematic.

It looks pretty skinny, but otherwise it's great. And no, leave it un-shiny. I don't like shiny renders, it makes them look fake.

Go watch the brood war intro and look for where the zergling rears up. The real ones are a lot skinnier.

He already explained, ValValiant >_>

I don't remember, but didn't these zerglings have secondary scythes as well?

(Good)

Nice (it's somehow too rounded though), but i think they half-a55ed Zergling model in those original cinematics in the first place. (Just sticked a hydra head onto some body and animated it all (like they were too lazy to model a complete Zergling)) So I wouldn't pay attention to those variations at all.

This model you've made is truly good. I like the fact that you used some more complex textrures.

According to the people over at project revolution, this is what zerglings oringinally looked like when the game was pre-alpha, and people complained that they weren't oringinal enough. Only then did they make up the 6-limbed dinosaur face design seen in the game, but they made the cinematics very early in production and it would've taken them too long to redo them with real zerglings.

Thats a great render..

To the best of memory, it looks pretty much like that, but has 4
dog-like legs, THEN it has those scythe arms coming from the crest. And its a bit skinnier, looks kinda like a dog with nothing but skin and bones.

Thanks for the comments but I don't understand... How can seven people say that the zergling is wrong when I clearly stated I wasn't making an official final ling but a replica of the cinematic one. I said to look at the brood war intro to see how accurate it was, and almost no one did. Why can't people take the time to read the description and stuff? Why...?

Other wise... great.

No, the cinematic zergling doesn't have claws on its head, it appears exactly as shown here (clearly shown in the BW intro). Thanks though.

I get what he's saying, its the Cinematic Zling, but rembmer blizz did the Cinematics before most of SC, so we got this weird lookin thing, final "real" zerglings, have 4 legs, and two extra limbs on top, with scythes, in SC2 they also have wings. If you look carefuly t WC3 the felhound doesn't look slightly like a Zling, it is quite simply an almost perfect replica of what they look like, just bigger, and different colours.
