.....

uh not to discourage you or anything but 3D modelling is not hard, try spending some time on the next thing you do. Thats all you need to make a good model, TIME.

i think you did well, i made one of those things on my own but i'm too afraid to post it... its not that great comparing to most of your works...

Well, crazyyoda, I did spend an hour on it... Yes an hour, even if it dosent look like it. And gladstone, when you say "your" works, I asume you mean starcraft.org as a whole, not MY works... So you should just submit it, it cant be worse then mine!

an hour isnt near enough time. you don't have to finish a model in one sitting you know...

I have returned... *cough*

...and yes, spend more time on it. I couldn't agree with crazyYoda more. My non-SC.ORG friends who draw 2D CGs (and they're REALLY good at it) spend at least a few hours on each and every picture. With the schedules they pull, they can only crank out one a day at most.

I'd imagine 3D CGs being harder than 2D CGs, at least, so, yeah, a good-enough 3D CG would take several hours at least...

DUDE USE MAYA!!!ONE.

So yea use it...

On maya, it looks like you just used the component function and stuck a bunch of nurbs together. You'll know what I mean.

Didn't even have textures except for the fact that you used the base colour format for whatsitcalled. Basically you created a coloured symbol (Red) and merged it with what was on the design window. Most models on maya that use colours have dozens of these symbols. Looks like you used just one, whereas the other one was made to be grey since its got no symbol thingy. I just call them symbols cuz i can't remember maya's exact name for it.

On maya, that would most likely not take an hour, unless you had to do things like the "snap" function and what not, as well as rotation or lofting which requires some minor skill.

Last thing is, Maya renders require lighting, and as far as I can tell that has no lighting since it hasn't got a backdrop. Or at least from what I can see, a grey backdrop means NO backdrop whatsoever.

Backdrops take like 5 seconds too. =P

O yea the other symbol coulda been black and was most likely a cube hooked in with the red "head" of the wraith. That's just what it looks like.

Sorry, but I voted Pretty Bad.

It doesn't look anything like a wraith. Zako720, listen to everything CrazyYoda says, OK!

Personally, I wouldn't have submitted it at all. Put more time into it next time.

For his first 3D Model?
That's great work.

Try and keep in mind the skills and experience of the user posting, peeps.
This is great for a 1st/2nd 3D Model.

Hope to see more from you!
