3D Ultralisk

I have only ever seen two fan made ultralisk 3D models, and both were very low detail. How come nobody makes ultras? They're so cool! So, here's my version; based on the SC1 version, but with a more CTM-styled head carapace then the sprite version. CrabTasterMan makes some awesome ultralisk pictures. *praises CTM*

It'll be used in Sons of War, so ITSTORRASQUE4U is texturing it now.

AWSOME FIRST!!!! This pic kicks major ass! one thing though the arms are to come out of the back not like a humans arms. Exeptional!

Yeah, for the arms I really really didn't know how they were attached or what to do with 'em, they're probably the worst part. So they're just kind of stuck in there like the SCG ultralisk, which does have them like human arms.

This is a nice model. It looks very true to the game design. I like how you managed to fit the unit portrait into the body. On a side note: wouldn't it be better to have the legs directly underneath it's body, like a pachiderm? Having them out to the side like that would never be able to support the weight of the body.

MoH, i think no one does it because looking @ different pieces of art and the sprites are kinda hard to tell what it looks like

@bobbtmann, well, in that one concept by samwise the legs went to the sides, and I thought it looked cool, if impractical.

@zeratuldraco, I probably won't add colors or textures because I think it'd be too hard.

@holydarkness, the ribs are like that because in samwise's concept art the torso is in shadow so you can't see what's there, and in some pictures I've seen people gave it that ribcage because it looks just like the one on the hydralisk, so I put it there too just because.

in the books it says that they come out of the back of it. but what ever. differant modles and it is still belivable. ps you are one of my most respected #d renderers. i mean know affence in my past comment.

No color? ah man. If it had it. It would look really cool. Also ultras have small spikes on their shells but all depends on what you feel like. Any way. Good job.

ultras must be so hard, you only ever get a 3d look by blizzard in the SCG opening. thats really cool.

About the arm... I think the solution is to make the part that has skin a bit shorter, making the part of the "bone" look longer, then maybe they're look like jaws..."¬¬ (uhm....)don't know.... anyway

Nice model. I also modeled the Ultralisk in 3d a year and a bit ago. I dunno if I posted it here or not.

I have been checking out SOW lately, Interesting mod, I am glad your team is using your skills in the cinematics. The youtube movies show great promise.
