High Templar Sketch

Here's my first sketch on this site. The design was based on the high templar render in the instruction manual, and I drew is at school during my classes. It's a bit messy, but aside from the small head I like the picture. It says 'not Tassadar' because I was originally going to draw Tassadar but I forgot what his head looked like, so I changed it to a generic high templar.

Feet are way of, head's off, and it's too rough. Keep working. |

Sorry, I haven't found any reference for protoss feet except for concept art and weird SCG stuff. Do you know what they're supposed to look like? |

I've made a model long ago.

You can't see feet there. I made them look strange, I should re-model them. I made his feet look almost like hands but a lot thicker.
...There's a doodad in StarEdit - a stone statue of some Protoss monk or something take a look at that. |

Ok, I found a full body pic of Artanis, my feet are sort of correct but they need toenails and the shin should be more platelike.

Easily impressed huh? I'd say good in the most indulgent way. But still I don't want to be mean so here's my review of this pic:
-i admit that the detail is not so bad, although it's kind of messy. the orientation is pretty good
- the legs are a major downside of the whole pic. too short, too simple and kind of weird.... anyway.. make them longer and put some armor on them. Look at the model in the "protoss campaign" in the original starcraft (not broodwar)
- the shoulder from the armor and the knees are a bit of center.
first draw on axis, a line to guide the leg/arm/body or whatever you are drawing

Now I really know that the picture needs revising, people are misinterpreting what I tried to draw.
I'm aware that the torso and head and pelvis don't line up, the templar is standing in that hunched over way that Artanis does in BW and as you can see by the angle of his chest he isn't facing us except for his head, so it is natural that these things shouldn't line up. Yes, the legs are too simple and short, but I wanted to leave them unarmored because this isn't a zealot, it's my own concept of a different kind of high templar. I know that official ones wear zealot armor too, but that would only be for combat, not for one who say, pilots a carrier like tassadar does, and originally I was drawing him. Thank you for taking the time to tell me specific things I should change though, constructive critisism FTW! |

was this you latest protoss pic or have you done an improved one yet with the new anatomy and stuff?? I like you shading style but you need some darker lines in some places just to separate different things like the wrist blades from the hands and the chest plate and abdomen but apart from that the anatomy isnt bad better than mine cos mine is to stocky lol |
