Zergling!

Hi! I'm new her and I guess I wanted to see what you guys think about this zergling drawing I made. It's mostly based on the ingame version of the zergling from the first SC and also a bit on the cinematic zergling (which is really just a small hydralisk with legs). I think some of the pictures I used as a reference might not have been official artwork so there might be a few inaccuracies.
Oh btw I don't have a scanner big enough for drawings so I had to use a digital still camera.

It's a nice sketch. It's not perfectly accurate, the tusk things should be on little arms , the frill should be smaller, the feet should be more birdlike, it should be on all fours (unless its looking around) etc, but it's a nice looking zergling and the light shading is really nice. His left toes bother me the most, they look kind of mashed up like a car just ran over his foot and he's watching it drive away, but I like the picture. I think I'll give it good for the nice shading and pose and style and stuff. |

Yeah I was never too pleased about his feet either, I'll have to change them when I have the time. I always thought zerglings in SC1 stand on their hind legs, but then again you can't really tell because those sprites are so small. I guess you're right though. |

Eh. I think its pretty good compared to all the other sketches we've been getting nowadays. I totally agree with MoH (somewhat). |

Ahh, I see what you mean. Take a look at the zergling sprite on a white background though.

Yes, but I thought they stood on their hind legs while standing still, but moved on all 4 when running. They kinda act that way in the brood war movie and I believe I even read somewhere that they do that but I can't find it anywhere, so I can't be sure.
Oh wait I found it:
In StarCraft, they are bipedal creatures with Velociraptor-like legs. They have three webbed toes on the end of each. Protruding from below their head are two arms ending in scythe-like claws. When zerglings stand still these scythes fold down against their stomachs. Zerglings run by hopping on all four lower limbs

AAHHHHH blizzard has yet to give us a good picture of a 'ling!!!! T_T
but i like the basic consept of urs, i see them as a little cricket like maybe malnurished dogs. i HATE the fat ones that look like fat wolves...like the ones on the SC ghost trailor.
but urs is good....it looks kinda like the xenomorphs on ALIENS though....which is a bad thing dont get me wrong aliens is cool and all but its just not starcraft

pretty awesome!  ) the sholder arms & the claws on the regular arms need to be switched. I don't know when you made this, but if you made it after sc2 was announced, the ling has wings.lol ling wings ☺ |
