Enjoy fun and rewarding installation maps with intense battles and unique, challenging bosses? Then this map is right up your alley! Introducing Sector 16, a once calm, peaceful place turned upside down by a sudden Zerg invasion. As the former leader of the sector before the invasion, you find colonial law stubborn to take action and repel the invaders, so it's up to you to serve up some vigilante justice! As you dig deeper into the events of what happened, you discover that this is no ordinary hostile takeover, and you find out who your friends really are.

The gameplay consists of 5 levels that you must beat, each with its own unique boss and most with minibosses as well. You buy mercenaries to fight with using minerals that you gain by killing enemies, completing levels, and destroying bonus mineral caches. Smart purchases, micromanagement, and survival are the keys to success.

You can choose to download the normal edition with no sounds, or the special edition which has full looping music for each level, as well as boss music and other goodies. The music is a hand-picked selection of some of my favorite videogame tracks, and I hope you take a little extra time to download this version.

Here is the no-music version:

SPECIAL EDITION CAN BE FOUND HERE: (18 MB)

Word to the wise: This map gets tough! If you're ever stuck on a boss or a miniboss, there are some hints that might help you in the triggers section of the map.

A note about this map:

I was originally going to put all 8 levels on this map, but ran into an unexpected limitation regarding walls, so that's why there's a big gap at the top for those who are wondering.

Enjoy, and please comment!

The normal enemies are supposed to be mostly cannon fodder that don't put up that much of a fight (although that changes in the later levels). I personally find it fun to slay through enemy ranks en masse using only a few elite units.

Also, I found and fixed a bug about being unable to access the ending if you find the big hidden secret and beat the game. I updated the special edition link with the file that has the fix, but I can't edit the no-music version. However, I would wager that anyone who manages to find and access the big secret has probably beaten the game at least once and has already seen the ending. It's very tricky to both find and access.

I'm glad that people are enjoying this map. Keep the comments coming!

You are a LEGEND with map making. This was a truly awesome map, bug-free from what I've experienced, and well, godly triggers.

Freaking awesome and can't wait for more.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I appreciate it. Part 2 is on hold for now until I finish the map I'm currently working on. I made a topic for it on WarBoards, and if you enjoyed the boss battles in Sector 16, you should check it out:

Well, this map took me a long time to make (over 6 months, on-and-off) and limitations such as 255 max locations and a max number of walls didn't help either. I ended up having to cut quite a few scripted sequences because of the location limit.
