Looks like we may be seeing Starcraft II before the end of 2008. Itzik Ben Bassat, Vice President Business Development and International for Blizzard Entertainmen stated:

"I'm a StarCraft player myself and I hope it's not a decade, and we launched StarCraft in 1998, before I'm standing here again, celebrating the next game in the series."

This is not an official announcement -- but certainly brings every one hope for a new Starcraft game in the near future.

Sounds great, hope they get it done. And I hope I have a better graphic card by the time they release it.

Cool, but I kinda hope after this they get away from Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo; or at least change 'em up a bit. I think they had the right idea with SC: Ghost, but I can see why it was scrapped. Maybe a SC-FPS in the future?

Away from StarCraft II? I love Ghost too, but giving away SCII at all is horrible! Anyway, I heard a rumor(many times) that Ghost and SCII will come out about the time time.

OMG, ive been waiting for SCII for sc long. Hopefully, they'll include the editor for total customization like they did in WC3 so we dont have to worry about all these downloads/installations messing up the registry.

I think its just great, now I need a new graphics card
My record online is like 245-253-22
It will be all for nothing

I made something for SC.org, in pivot stick animator program,
and I don't know were to submit it, I saved it as a gif.
That's the farthest I got. I'm learning how to use KoolMoves,
same program but way better, a bit more sophisticated though
but worth it

Great. It is finally released at a time when I cannot play it, when I am starting college. Just great.

Ha, we really like to take every simple thing they say out of context, don't we?
If Starcraft II DOES come out soon, we're gonna have some major LAN parties in Cartooning class.

I'm in the Sons of War expansion. Perhaps we should just scrap the project and wait like everybody else...

This not so subtle hint is very nice. This is the first announcement that really gets my hopes up. Before, it was all mere speculation, now they're really talking about a sequel in the near future.

im not so sure i will buy it.
i dont think it will be worth my time.
i liked SC1, but not enough to wait almost ten years for it.
it makes me feel old.
and im not that old.
id rather buy a new game for my 360 than SC2.
i dont even think that my computer could handle it.
and i dont have enough money to go out and buy a new one.
hell i dont even have enough for up grades.
my computer is 6 years old and still has origional parts.
i have a pentium III.
thats the most hi-tech thing on my computer.

You wouldn't buy StarCraft 2 ... not worth your time???? Why are you on a StarCraft website???

I still use both original discs from 1998! I've still have a collection of old StarCraft action figures from way back too!

I'll be first in line wherever this game is finally released... and will throw a monsterous themed party as well!!!

i couldnt win when i wuz 5 so i used cheats, and didnt have anything more than AOL dial up... so i couldnt play online, but when i wuz about 7 i could beat all the original starcraft without cheats and then the brood war expansion pack came out and when i wuz 10 i could beat that anyway they probobly will delay it
