Yes it is quite true, it is possible for blind people to play starcraft too. it just requires some techniques and practise to do it properly.
You can see a video of a blind gamer playing maybe the most famous progamer of starcraft universe, SlayerS_'Boxer'! Boxer was blindfolded to make it more "equal".
The blind guy was simply dominating boxer, but then boxer took his blindfold away... Overall I must say that the blind guy played amazingly well. Who won? watch and see!

"Is this serious, or a joke?" it is serious. that man used advanced techniques, such as memorizing the map with shift + f2, f3 etc. This way he'll find the correct position easily again. he also used scrolling to the corner to find the correct places. he also had his mouse at the middle of the screen, and moves with arrows. this way he will always be where he wants to. It's true that it isn't a easy task and takes practise, but it really is true.

| The blind guy hardly memorized the map. If you watched properly, he saved his locations on his map. So when he wanted to go to a specific location, he could press his loc button and the minimap would automatically jump to where he saved the location. I guess the locations he saved were his base and choke, boxers base and choke, plus all the expos. Still though, the units micro alone is stunning. =( imagine if he wasnt blind, lol.

Pretty incredible. It always amazes me when I see blind people coping with the world without being able to see - even as much as crossing the street. When you see a blind person playing a game of StarCraft better than I can, it blows my mind. I guess in Korea, the country that probably had a simultaneous instance of weak bladder control when it saw the SC2 trailer, anything is possible if it involves StarCraft.

| First of all, I don't like boxer that much. I am a NaDa fan, but when I saw you guys trash him, I had to say something. First of all, the blindfold wasn't put on him to make the game fair, it was put to show how even the most experienced players would have difficulties to play without sight. Second, the blindfold made the game unfair, FOR BOXER, since the blind guy had LOTS of practice to play without seeing, and boxer had none up to the day. Third I don't think that Lee would have enjoyed a victory over boxer when he didn't even build a depot! It would have been lame. Fourth Boxer has a reputation to keep, people wouldn't think: Boxer is a nice man, he let a blind kid win. They would think: OMGZ0R BOXER GOT PWZ0RRRND BY A BLIND GUY!!1 LMAO. Yes Boxer only won because the kid was blind and didn't see his tricks, but the kid only got that far because of the 3 minute headstart he got.

I can only add that Lee prob hotkeyed a mineral patch and so select worker and etc... then he always know where mineralpatch is (or he add location right above mineral patch so he only need to have mouse in middle of screen)
