Our staff in the fiction section have been talking, and they've got something of a treat for you. Without further ado, I shall allow Protogod to explain:

Some years ago, word got out that SC.org was in for some changes. With a bold new look, a maps review board (wow, that was a long time ago!), and a plethora of new staff members, it seemed like we were done. But, in fact, we've been working on a little surprise for you.

After about two long years, Sc.org has come full circle, and we are proud to re-open the Jewel of SC.org - The Elite Fiction Database. With our crack team of fanfiction moderators, we will be accepting nominations, and discussing amongst ourselves, which of your works is worth a place on Mount Olympus with the other monuments to literary achievement.

For those of you too young or inactive to recall, the Elite Fiction section is a tradition on Starcraft.org, and has been around long before our near-fatal 2004 crash. This tradition is one of the few surviving, and as such, it's return certainly moves this old-timer. The EF represents the epitome of .org writing talent, and to even be nominated is a great honor.

Now you may ask: how are we going to get to all of this? Four years work?! That's a lot! Well, the truth is that we're going to get to that dusty ol' box later. At the moment, we'll be keeping our greedy little eyes out only for fics that catch our attention. Who knows? These type of people can spring out from the dust of the earth. You could be the next Vector Mission or Oddyssey! Only time will tell.

This is why January 2008 will see the beginnings of .org Elite Fiction's latest incarnation. A bold step forward for a bold new year. Thank you, and Merry Christmas from all of the .Org.

As a side note, I am looking at making a new poll, so that should be up tomorrow. Thus far, I've been unable to access the polls page myself, so I hope it hasn't been too much of a hassle.
