As we drag our feet into 'hump day', I thought I'd remedy your apathy with our second installment of Submission of the Week. This week's installment is about .org Fanfiction, more specifically, a very well written piece that was suggested to me by one of the fanfic mods. UED: Domino Effect Part 1 by our very own Snot.

The piece is the most recent installment of Snot's United Earth Directorate stories, which has been relating to us the various chronicles of the "Second Expeditionary Fleet" of the UED, led by the young Sarah DuGalle.

There's not much more I can say about this work without expanding upon the entire series, so I'll leave you now with this excerpt:

Pointing his rifle at the double doors that led down to the facility bellow, Nicholas fired off a burst, shattering the lock and hinges, sending them crashing and flipping down the stairwell. The men filed in quickly behind him as he charged through the breach, their heavy armor and boots crushing the debris underfoot. As they entered, they could see signs that the siege had been taking its toll. The lights were dim, barely casting any luminescent through the cluttered halls and corridors. The stench of human feces and rot wafted on the air currents, some of the Marines were overcome with the constant barrage to their sense and began vomiting, others simply closed their visor and locked it into place. Breathing off their built in oxygen scrubbers.

“Alright boys, lights on, safeties off, split up and get to work. You got twenty minutes. Move out.” Ordered Nicholas, taking half of the men down one end of the corridor, kicking over desks and boxes as they went, while the rest charged do the other stairwell. Mark and Dan looked at one another."

It's sad how little people come to appreciate fiction these days. Anyways, it's a great work, so I suggest to all of you to read it. Still, I think a multitude of grammar problems bring down the quality of the work, but not by much, fortunately.
