The name is self-evident. Don't ever, EVER leave any side of your base unguarded, like I did here. Leaving your Barracks completely unguarded is a BIIIIIIIIG mistake, as you will see.

I think it goes without saying that you shouldn't spread all of your buildings around in random places....

Cluster your buildings, and build some defence at important areas, like mineral patches, remember: the defensive buildings are mostly there to buy time while your main forces on thier way to the rescue.

No wait I'm talking about Terran...And about against mutalisks..Well its just like that don't waste too much money on defensive structures but spend them on mobile units, which can be used for BOTH defence AND attack.
