Hey Im new at this stuff but not at SC just wanted to show you some effective TVP strats here goes...
I usually go 8 rax with 9 supply , that way, your strategy is flexible, you can make marines if you feel unsafe, or if you find enemy teching, you can attack 3 marines beat 1 goon with proper micro (switch- back)Refinery should be done before or during the creation of the barracks. That way you can go fac or marines depending on situation
I usually only get 3 marines because in beginning, scv count is crucial , mostly for terran cause they are gas hogs. you should have roughly 20 scvs at the creation of the first fac. then you should look to expand. and during all this time you should have located your opponent. run your scv around his base, looking mainly at terrain( for entrance of drop/ terrain advantage) Once you have 1 tank send your x amount of marines and secure expo. build second fac and start starport asap.
Before cc at expo finishes, send scv because it is still "early" and a lot can happen wether you are smart economically. This strategy requires expo because wraiths and tanks are expensive. once you have completed expansion take your army which should consist of 5-7 tanks and x marines with 1-2 wraiths. since you have scouted his terrain you should know when and where to attack, knowing that is crucial to battle , meanwhile, pump only wraiths. with your tanks set up a good perimeter around his choke with (few) tanks and marines streaming in in case of mass goons or speed zealot attempt having more is always a good thing no matter how low your minerals are. your tanks and marines are mere diversions (make sure you hide your wraiths) draw his attention to you,
push slowly do NOT take risks because it is diversion only, your wraiths will pick off lone zealots and capture expos (killing probes) while your enemy is trapped.
If he tries to drop his units to escape, then you have wraiths to kill. if it fails storm up his ramp , w/e is it, with full strenght knowing that his force is somewhat divided, have map control so he doesnt escape. if he attempts carriers, you have wraiths which can pick off 2-4 with 12 so always keep constant recon for cars. while he is focused on your little harrassment you can go on to greater tech The sole purpose of the wraiths were because they had mobility, they can go around and wreck havac in large numbers while his main forces are being held in by your smaller number, (try to contain with bunkers, supplies, if he dts then you have comsat, ( sorry for not mentioning but only noobs dont have comsat at this time ^^ . This strategy may sound stupid but has a 85% win ratio which i think is good. I didnt mention building mroe facs, starports because if you really are intermediate i shouldnt have to tell you the concept of macro. GOOD DAY NOOBS

Its decently written and it has good idea so I did approved but I do see some problems with it: 9rax is a nono tvp cause you cant do any damage with 3 marines vs decent player yet that delays your fac badly and hurts your economy. Unless its a very very small map but no one techs on blood bath anyways. If you move out to take expo with 3marines 1 tank its insta gg vs any goon pressure. (But if you stay in your main and build cc in there for floating it to exp and cover exp with siegetanks you should be fine). Also you forgot to mention ebay or academy for dts, must be done before starport or second fac. You didnt mention vultures but you are definately going to have 5 factories pumping only vultures because tanks + wraith takes so much gas that you have much unspend minerals and wraith + mines is so nice combo. Anyways moving out is the biggest issue because he will have so many goons (even if he double expands) that you must push with siegetanks right from your expansion to his expansion which takes around 20minutes. But that can work out fine, especialy if you can easily cover second and third expansions while pushing. I think that this would be clearly more viable if youd make dropship after 2 wraiths and try taking his cliff. "This strategy may sound stupid but has a 85% win ratio" If you win more than 50% you are playing the wrong people and if you - with this strategy - win more than 20% you are most certainly playing the wrong people ^^ |

if so much as one storm gets off on the wraiths this strat busts 0/0.... If its Gay Temple with the unfair cliff then yes will definitely win you the game unless the toss has already taken another main base expansion in anticipation of this.... And so we have reason #458 why Lost Temple is rigged for terran to win. |

ehh... not so good First fac at 20 SCV's That would be 20 pop plus your 3 marines, so thats factory at 23/26? GG by that point toss will have 1-3 goons (either 2 gate or obs) and will walk right over you. Late fac means toss will win, so, BA |

Pretty Bad... You cant just "play safe" vs protoss. Playing safe will keep you away from him. Being away from a protoss means he will take the economy edge and will overpower you in 15 minutes. BTW, wraith vs protoss???? What about goon+observers? |

its not like he would make some frontal assault against goons with his wraiths. More like cover cliff drops, shoot observers and hunt shuttles. And playing safe is fine on many maps (tho not often optimal strategy), you can let him make limit in 12minutes and take 4expansions if he likes, youll still win. For example you can see iloveoovs tvp on gaia, wcg 07. | ||||||
