Well... I've got like 25 different web pages speculating the arrival of StarCraft 2 in my inbox, I just chose one and unless the quotes are different from the one I already posted then it's going to stay like that. All of them say the same thing. New product announcement in 2007, three unannounced titles, Blizzard really wants to revisit the StarCraft universe in the future... blah blah, heard it all before. Have you guys seen the movie trailers for StarCraft: Ghost? The CGI in those movies ...

I just wanted to post why I definitely think so. There are three unannounced projects in production at the moment, one of them is a 3D RTS. The view to me is simple - either the 3D RTS is StarCraft 2 or it's not. I choose to believe that it is. One thing which one of the employees at Blizzard said (gosh, I should've posted the link in a news post somewhere) is that everytime they think about what project they want to do, StarCraft 2 always comes up and they discuss the possibility of doi ...

Whoops, I forgot about the title length limit, that's why it was looking wierd the other day. It's now fixed. Personally I think this is the most convincing evidence I've seen so far that StarCraft 2 is in production, but I don't think it's conclusive. There could be others reasons why Blizzard might be wanting a 3D level designer, I'm sure. Maybe for tournament maps or something, since they're now hiring e-sports coordinators. ...

I am impressed with the way you have written this, it's got a good approach with an introduction and conclusion with all the bits in the middle. I like how you've given a bit of detail on each unit, and I'm glad you stressed how useful the science vessel is, because it is useful. But I don't know about Vultures being used against Goliaths though, their spider mines are great, but their standard weapon is concussive, so they would only do 25% of their full damage against the large goliath. Protogod, you've been around here long enough to know the submission policy here at this site. Reasons to improve a submission do not equal reasons to delete a submission. If I were JimRaynor117, I would've responded the same way. heh, that might be true. The time on the popular list is inversely correlated with the rate at which submissions flow into the sections at the moment. It's done this way because we want the items at the top of the popular list to actually be good, and if the time limit is too strict on a slow section then we'll just get lots of bad submissions at the top. Perhaps I should look into adjusting the values... But yes, it is excellent to be able to say your strategy was so good that nothing could ...

Yeah, I have to agree, 8 gateways by the 12th probe? I realise this is just a guideline, but it's leaving a lot of interpretation up to the reader, and I would need to see more explanation before giving the strategy a better vote. And no, ChaosTheory doesn't have to justify his thinking. We do encourage people to provide constructive criticism at this site, but it is their choice, it is okay for people to simply state that they don't like something, as long as they're not being unreasonable ...

Heh, yeah I hope the Legacy guys aren't offended by that... Gibb, the previous webmaster, made sure I knew where the Legacy turf was, and because of that I know that on my side I'm not going to compete directly with StarCraft Legacy's turf. For example, we'll never have a links database here at StarCraft.org, and it's not part of the StarCraft.org mission to be the most up-to-date with tournament coverage for example. I don't know whether they're trying to get rid of this site on the Legacy s ...

Yeah that's true. If it were "the most popular strategies of all time" then the list would almost never change because it'd be so hard to get on the list. That's what used to happen on the old site and people used to complain that there was never anything new on the popular list, it just stayed the same for months. So, I cut it down to a two month limit. Two months is quite a long time so I hope it's fair to everyone. ...

Oh okay, right. With the mod thing, I think that's really a straightforward answer. If there's someone in the community who regularly visits, is respected by others, cares about the site, has goals that are in line with the mission of the site, and can be trusted to uphold the reputation of StarCraft.org, then yes, bringing them on staff will be a positive benefit to the site in every way, no question. I banned Kaos, kirby and yoyoyo on the first day they came onto the site, and Kaos had already be forced out from the site by me before SciFiFreak had come online. As for kirby and yoyoyo, they constantly evaded the bans that were placed and created new accounts. Yes, as a member I think iamandragon should've said which part was pointless and why, and as the webmaster I encourage people to be more descriptive when they make a comment, but it's not against the rules to make short comments. Yes that's right myth8745, and while we're talking about that, if StarCraft is going to go down with Chrono Trigger, Tetris, Mario, Sonic and Pokemon, you guys need to vote for StarCraft at Walk of Game! See the news post, if you haven't already. And... we love newbies at StarCraft.org because with time they all become appreciated members like Snot, GrimTerror and varaon! Where have you been varaon? It's been ages! Anyway, we're getting a little off-topic... ...

You know, I think this strategy is helpful to the community, but I don't completely disagree with what MishapoTP and Ihatezerg have said. This site does need some serious moderating and the veteran thing would have you all banned if this were a different site. I like how we have people on the site who look after the place and make sure everyone knows what the rules are here, but I certainly don't like how you guys use the word "veteran" to command authority. And I think that MishapoTP' ...

I think that, compared to other games, StarCraft is easier. Other games like WarCraft III have hero systems and about five different spells for everything, and the Command and Conquer series are made to be a lot more realistic, with weapons missing and there being like, five different damage types and so on... Earth 2150 has a lot more complications too, it forces you to reload your unit's ammo and design your units from a set of modules. Compared to other games, StarCraft has a little more focu ...

Hey GrimTerror, yes I just tried your mod. I just have to say, I love it, this is probably the best first mod I have ever seen. I think what I appreciate most about it is that when playing it I felt you really explored Arsenal III, and having modded for far too long I really like to see people do that because it doesn't happen as often as you might think. But more specifically on the mod, I really liked playing it and finding out the differences for myself. Probably the Goliath was my favourite, ...

You can only claim the goodies and things if you turn up there in person, so don't PM me unless you're really serious about going because there's no point putting your name down otherwise. Heh, yes Aquarian, we are kind of screwed... Don't worry about the massive overflow of items, I've learnt from past experiences to not approve more than the newest list can allow in one day. We do have a backlog to get through, so I expect we'll be approving at fifteen items in maps, fiction and strategies per day per section once the admin panel is back up. Fifteen is the same number you see in each of the newest lists. ...

Hey person, I'm sure you've noticed on this site that, people leave their comments on this site telling others what they think of each submission. LumosaBrood was doing just that, stating his opinion. People won't always think the same as you, what one person might consider a story might be different from another person's definition of a story. Just because someone else thinks differently from you doesn't make them wrong, everyone will have their own personal opinions. You don't have to agree wi ...

Well, I'm trying to push discussion over to where it should be, so that we can specialise our features for reviewing, instead of both discussion and reviewing. With over 12 000 pieces of content on this site we really need to make it as organised as possible, because otherwise there is all of this content that will never be seen ever again because it just gets lost in the sea of content. So it would do me a huge favour if you guys performed your discussion on the forums. The forums have got sp ...

Hi HDogXero, We actually only accept one piece of a series at a time so that the "latest maps" listing doesn't become filled with all the maps in the same campaign. If people are interested in the rest of the series, they can look at the listing at the top of the page to find the rest of the maps. Have you thought about visiting our forums at www.warboards.org and starting a poll over there on what you should do with your map making in the future? You can link to your map from t ...

I've set the target patch number of this mod to 1.04, since it's been tested on that version. That was the whole idea of having the target patch number, because when people submit mods, eventually a patch will come out, rendering some mods in compatible. I think the Terrans can still be balanced yet versatile. The thing about balanced is, it doesn't mean every single race is 100% equal, it just means that each one has both strengths and weaknesses that balance out. When Blizzard were describing the design of WarCraft III and its focus on strategy, they used the idea of rock-paper-scissors. The game of rock-paper-scissors is perfectly balanced, there's no choice (I'm not sure what to call them) that rigs the game, each one has an equal chance of ...
