Pretty incredible. It always amazes me when I see blind people coping with the world without being able to see - even as much as crossing the street. When you see a blind person playing a game of StarCraft better than I can, it blows my mind. I guess in Korea, the country that probably had a simultaneous instance of weak bladder control when it saw the SC2 trailer, anything is possible if it involves StarCraft. ...

Hiya Snot! And the Immortals are basically the same as Dragoons, cpunk. Not much different. On the plus side, the Photon Cannons still look EXACTLY the same (I swear they still even have the same number of pixels), so I guess that could be a sign that Blizz has still left at least some of what we loved about the original StarCraft. And this poll isn't at a high count at all (where's the 200+ ones I remember?), but it has been up for long enough. ...

I would spend any amount of money to go to Blizzcon this year, but unfortunately I don't have any amount of money. lol, all you see up there is 'omg SC2!'. Hardly anything about the poll. Actually, I was pretty stoked when I heard about it too, but unlike most of you I didn't see it in the form of a trailer until a couple days ago. I actually saw it on WarBoards O_o . Anyway, I'll probably get as excited as I should be according to most of you when I see me some Zerg . Anyway, Execu ...

(Gah! I can't believe I missed the newspost for the announcement of SC2! +7483291641 demerits for Geckat) "...JarJar-" But the obnoxious torture induced by the retarded Star Wars character was broken by a split in the universe. With the paradox of Sarah Kerrigan appearing in the rift, on the other side of the Warp appeared another long lost character that PFR would probably be better without. Geckat awoke at the answering machine's *beep* and said, "BELIEVE IT OR NOT, GECKAT HAS BEEN SACKED BY AN IRISH HOBBIT! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, GECKAT HAS BEEN SACKED..." for about twenty minutes, then belched and hung up. He wasn't sure who was more annoying: the leprechaun or the necromancer. After GECkat had wiped the bird crap off his head he poked his head out of the bathroom sunroof and looked around. He could have sworn something really weird and pointless had just happened that would somehow eventually effect his sudden and only somewhat unpredictable desire for galactic domination. Oh well, wudduya gonna do. Stupid robin. Bringing his head out of the sun's glare Geckat picked up the phone (he had a phone in the bathroom*) and dialed a fifteen-digit phone number. The pho ...

(OOC: Getting a drop in the number of members here . It's getting a little corny here, so that might be a bit of it. Keep it going like a story .) Geckat looked around, sitting in his 3.2^-four trillion googleplex mm dimension covered in sh-ite. "I gotta get outta here." Geckat whimpered, surrounded by a few evergreen trees, "Why do they all have to be so big now?" Clone98 came out from behind his glacier, "We're not that big, man. Relax." Geckat whimpered worse than ever, "And you all smell like you work in a Central American chain restaraunt!" Before the twelve-inch rounds could reach him, however, Godckat had reached into his vast powers not unlocked for nearly two years and warped through space into the twenty-seventh ...

"Stop faking it, Champ," said the Clone, which sent Geckat into a fit of hysterical laughter that outweighed what the joke had been worth and earned him a couple shots at point blank to the neck by Clone #871. This, in turn, sent the rest of the game's participants into hysterical laughter that far outweighed the joke's worth. It was a very efficient system that nonetheless had attracted Haladras' attention, who was now attempting to resurrect Champ's shattered testicles.* *This b ...

(OOC: So true, Zerg . Coo', I'm the tank guy.) Geckat, for his role as a tank commander, after destroying all nearby dangerous objects that may tempt him into suicide fueled by self-revoltion, put on an incredibly annoying Southern accent and tuned in to the not-so-encrypted wire (SolidSamurai was smart, but not that smart). The cheeziness isn't what got me, to be honest. It reminded me of a movie trailer, both in the fact that the cheeziness just made it look cooler, but also in the fact that I really don't get it at all. I didn't see much for a story or development of any kind...just some dudes walking through a ruins for some reason under the orders of an unspoken authority, and they find the corpse of a Wanderer, who speaks telepathically without any kind of trigger. When you're writing a series, you need to make sure that each chapter is almost like a story on its own, so that it has all the suspense it needs to make people want to continue reading onto the next chapter. It's also good to hold off on submitting all the parts at once, so that you can take criticism and work with it for the next chapter . ...

Ahh...fighting cliche with cliche. Really, when playing from the Terran point of view it's hard not to have your character whine about the terrors of the battlefield. It's a bit dry. Yes, sorry, that's just the only thing I felt in it. There wasn't much for suspense, for one thing. I think that's because of the fact that Emmanuel hardly ever says anything. It's just Raynor's monologue. Another is that there's no action in it. Really, none at all. It's just an introduction. Stuff like...using 'here' twice out of three words in a sentence. Word repitition is never good unless it's intentional. I wasn't so concerned about the lack of setting. The setting wasn't very important in the story - it was all the same. Nor was I concerned with originality. As long as it strays from the usual 'marines on a mission, everything goes wrong, everyone dies in a bunker, one guy goes nuts, etc. etc.' I'm perfectly fine. The writing style was quite thorough, and the characters well-balanced. The one thing I'd like to talk about is suspense. StarCraft revolves around suspense. It's the genre. Th ...

Brutally honest? Sounds good. Names: It's Mengsk, not Mengusk, and Fenix, not Felix Now that's done, I can at least say I know that you wanted your story to have 'feel' to it, but you didn't do as good a job as you could have. <3 DocOc . Ktan, you probably should've told him to resubmit it after he'd gotten more into it. As you can see, a few people saw how short it was before he'd edited it and rated accordingly. That's why I don't much like the Edit feature - yeah, it's useful for fixing a couple things people point out, or if your word processor screwed you over and every quotation mark looks like $&13B, but I get thrown off when people basically revamp their whole story, adding onto it and stuff, an ...

I'll put it simply for you knobs who're whining about this site's limits on spam - which are very lenient, so you know: StarCraft.Org is a site for StarCraft. Seeing DO NOT BAN - DO NOT BAN - DO NOT BAN everywhere, and people posting crap everywhere isn't a very good use of space. Now, imagine if the whole site was like that. We'd have to rename it to "The Number One Source For All Things". Doesn't have the same ring, does it? People come here for StarCraft, not for Fifty Thousand ...

Alright, back to re-read this thing . I'm glad, really, that it wasn't changed too much, although one thing I noticed that made me very happy was the ending of the story's sort of 'ethereal' quality. It just didn't work before. Now he actually seems conscious when he's popping the Zerg, so that's good for starters, since it was my main problem with the story. A couple more did pop up in its place, though, so I hope you won't mind if I point them out, a'ight? One of the first things t ...

Quite liked the first two poems. Very good for your first submission . Only thing I didn't like were some of the words chosen. When choosing between words to fulfill a structure, make sure the word reflects the mood you want. Some of the words (even things like 'run, run') sounded like it was written for a elementary school audience. This really showed in 'A Hydralisk's Pain'. Other than that, not too much to complain about. Your structure's fine and everything, so I'll leave it at tha ...

Mmm...sounds like you're writing a role-playing game. That's not a good thing . Instead of just focusing on having your characters loosely lay out what's happening through speech lacking any real personality, try explaining what's going on in a character's head more thoroughly. So, the prison is small and has only the necessary appliances. What's the cell made of? How many are there? Can he see through the bars? What's this dude wearing? What does he do to pass the time? The title was very honest. But then again, I never really liked Dr. Seuss. Main thing about most structured poetry is to watch your rhyme and rhythm schemes. You don't keep to either of yours too much, and that should be the main thing you worry about. Then you watch your wordplay. I'm not a poet myself, but I do know that. What I think'd be good for practise if you wanted to emulate a poet (i.e. Seuss) is take one of their works and use those schemes, but replace each line with one of yo ...

Good structure, but much too short. Get some description in (that seems to be the trouble with a lot of writers here). Not just in what's happening and what's going through the protagonist's head, but in the surroundings and such. Get a plot going. C'mon, you can do better than this. This is SHORT (short to the point of not being approved, although somehow it was), is just a line of obvious thought and dialogue, no development...I'm sorry, but you shoud really take more time on your stories. Make them at least two or three pages long, and focus on making it as real as possible. For ideas, check out some of the higher-ranking stories in the Popular Fiction. You'll see what I mean. Anyway, better luck next time. Keep writing . ...

Well, for one I found it a little too simple. Amp up your descriptions a bit. Bring the reader into the story, don't just tell it. Your characters were developed quite well, though, so I'll give you that, and I think your actual structuring has merit. Just try to get some more description in there - what do the people look like? The surroundings? What's going through someone's mind at a certain point? You've got the wording for it, you just need to do it. It's these descriptions that act ...

Okay, eat your beefs first. Then you can have some praise. The first bit is important in setting up your mood, and as such I wouldn't mind feeling a little more disturbed. The description of the protagonist's dead friends felt a little too surreal, kind of like you'd feel if you were watching a movie on it. A little more guts, a little more gritty wording. I could tell you wanted to disturb the reader, but maybe use some words that actually sound cruel. That way you can really pack on th ...

I suck at FPSs, so continuing a favorite series with that wouldn't be a good thing for me. Stealth Action's the no-brainer for this poll. Yeah, most of your poems are ABCB rhyme schemes (from what I can see), which is really very common. Not very many people like free-verse, of course, but if you feel like using it you can really just let everything out without having to worry too much about schemes. And if you use shorter lines, people won't think you too much of a wash-up . Poetry is hard; not only do you have to think about your wording and your message, but all that funky stanza crap too. ...

Yeah, I see your explanation, but it seems forced...like you changed the scheme to make it rhyme properly as you wanted it to. When you do that, it makes the reader pause in the middle of a poem repeatedly to get the scheme back in his head, rather than letting it flow right through him. @ K'tan (with a ' ): When you're approving fiction, read the first couple paragraphs. Same with strats; often people are submitting advertisements for their maps or customs for some reason on there, so keep an eye out for that if you ever find yourself approving those. Number 1 is The Sims (another game that should DIE), 2 is Myst ( ), and 3 is StarCraft. I think WoW is number 5, though, so I'm better that eventually it will surpass StarCraft...and Myst and The Sims, for that matter . ...

Heh, I know why it's not showing up . c:\Documents and Settings\Loh\My Documents\My Pictures\Raynor's_Raiders_2.jpg You can't do that. You'll have to host it somewhere like PhotoBucket or TinyPic, and then use the image HTML tags to put it in. You can't host it from My Documents. That help, X9? Actually, ShadowStryker has a good idea too. If it can get submitted as fanart, SC.Org'll host it for you, rather than going through Imageshack. ...

wtf was that first comment, Hybrid? O_o Oh, and yeah, neither bbcode nor HTML works here. Sorry . So...WarCraft movie, eh? Well, everyone here's screaming about it like it's actually going to happen. Personally, I doubt it. Number of video games that were to be made into movies that got cancelled (or set aside at least) within a year or two:...well, I don't know the count, but it's a large number. Hey, I think it'd still be cool to have StarCraft (any RTS, really, but SC'd be cool) on the Nintendo DS. I'm a Ninty fan, but I'm a little pissed that no RTS has been released for the dual-screen yet. I know this has little relevancy to the topic; it's just something that came to mind. ...

Definately. BST's newspost reminded me that it is an RTS, so although I think Blizzard could milk SC right now, they're getting ready for when the game becomes unprofitable. Even if they're working on a different RTS, something StarCraft's bound to come up soon. Blizz doesn't want to lose its fans because they all-but-cancelled Ghost. The thing is, I'm still betting on World of StarCraft, since that would suck in both players of WoW and SC - Blizzard's two biggest games. ...

Naw, they just didn't have the technology that they have nowadays to do it right. Even if it was expected back then, it'd just be too much to accurately portray every unit's death when they: -get cut -get shot -get blown up -get shredded -get zapped -get burnt -get 'Spawned' (ewww) -collapse Oh, and by the way, there is radiation in the game, even if it's not technical. Korhal was still suffering from the radiation the Confederacy left on it during Brood War. It just doesn't affe ...

That's true. It doesn't have to be SC2. With WoW's success, I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard tried to kill two birds with one stone - suck in the MMORPG fans while finally appealing to the StarCraft nation. I know they said 'RTS', but who knows. Blizzard goes off on whims. I personally hope it's NOT an MMORPG, as I hate them. SC2 all the way! ...

Well, I've seen the SC BC dropping quite a bit in price. I'm betting that they are getting ready to get on with StarCraft again, especially since they've publically announced the near-cancellation of Ghost and sixteen employees have already died from mysterious causes that only a StarCraft fan could think up (muahahahah). No, I can't think of anything else Blizzard COULD be doing. A new Blizzard series wouldn't work; they're ones to try something different than everyone else, delving into the ...

I know it exists, trust me. 2) Half Sane is grouped. 3) What's it to you that it stays on top, eh? I submitted this because it's a COMPILATION. Zealots don't attack twice as fast as Dark Templar. I just tried it out. About 1.5. Anyway, I think this strat'd work best against Protoss, since they don't get very good detectors until later. If you can take out all their weak Photon Cannons, they're toast. Scouting isn't necessarily needed early on if you already know the map and know where your opponent is. Rushes are built on guesswork. ...

No, because humor leads to randomness. If you look at the popular fiction, you'll see that most of the good STORIES only have a spot or two of humor, and that makes it that much more funny. When every sentence is supposed to be funny, it just becomes randomness. Anyway, I don't know what's going to happen next. Probably won't be another PFR for a little while, at any rate. ...
